Women’s Tennis hosts SHSU for a Saturday afternoon dual
FORT WORTH -- TCU Women's Tennis (3-0) will be hoping to keep its positive momentum into a weekend dual against Sam Houston State on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

TCU leads the all-time series with SHSU, 2-0. This will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2013, a 4-3 Horned Frog victory.
The Horned Frogs continue to post strong results this season. TCU boasts a 11-1 record in singles play and 5-4 in doubles matches. Marie Norris and Addy Guevara lead all Horned Frogs with a 6-0 singles record, 12-1 overall, in the month of January. It is the longest winning streak in Guevarra's career, with her last three victories coming at the No. 5 position.
Norris has been especially dominant in her singles matches this year. The senior, ranked No. 68 in the country, has won all six of her completed singles matches by a combined score of 72-22, winning a stunning 76.8 percent of her games.
Mercedes Aristegui is now 2-0 in dual singles matches this year, winning her matches by a combined score of 24-3 against opponents from Abilene Christian and North Texas. Both victories have come at No. 3. She leads all Horned Frogs with two 6-0 sets in dual action.
Sam Houston State enters the weekend with a 4-0 record, earning two wins, each, over Prairie View A&M and Tarleton. The Bearkats were off to a strong start in the Southland Conference last season (4-0) before the season was brought to a halt. They lost their only match against a Power 5 opponent last season, a hard-fought 5-2 defeat to No. 17 Texas A&M.
