
Gutierrez Assistant Coach for U.S. Collegiate National Team

FORT WORTH – TCU beach volleyball head coach Hector Gutierrez has been named an assistant coach to the 2020 U.S. Beach Collegiate National Team; USA Volleyball announced earlier this week.
This honor comes to Gutierrez after a strong start to the 2020 season. The Horned Frogs finished the shortened season with an 11-4 record and a final ranking of No. 15 in AVCA poll. TCU enjoyed a 7-1 record on its home sand, including the programs first victory over Arizona, a 4-1 decision.
Gutierrez will be working with the head coach, a 1996 Olympian and longtime beach volleyball high performance coach Barbra Fontana. He is joined by fellow assistant coach, Russell Brock, head coach at LSU.
Training plans for the team are on hold while the country deals with the COVID-19 pandemic.
