FORT WORTH – The No. 8 TCU Horned Frogs (5-7, 2-4 Big 12) will finish the regular season hosting the No. 6 Bulldogs (6-4, 1-5 SEC) this Saturday, March 7, at Diamond Creek Ranch. The event is set to get underway at 10 a.m.
Following the meet, the Frogs will honor the class of 2020 for their hard work and dedication to the program the past four years.
DIRECTOR OF EQUESTRIAN HALEY SCHOOLFIELD
"We are excited to host UGA on Saturday for what no doubt will be a fierce competition. It will also be our privilege to honor a very special senior class at their very last home meet."
ALL-TIME SERIES
Georgia leads the all-time series 7-3 over the Frogs. The Bulldogs are 4-1 as the away team. It is the first full meet between the two sides since Oct. 20, 2017.
The two sides met last season in the event championships twice. Georgia won Fences, 3-1, and downed the Frogs by tiebreaker, 887.5-881, in the Horsemanship event National Championship.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU enters the event on a three-meet slide after taking on back-to-back-to-back top 5 teams. The Frogs put together an impressive 1,528.5 raw score which is the highest raw score the Frogs have registered in at least the last four years.
Seniors Jamie Cook and Claire Dittrich were named Big 12 Riders of the Month for February. Cook shared the Horsemanship honor with Oklahoma State's Harley Huff after going 3-0-2 on the month. Dittrich earned the Reining accolade after going 4-1 with back-to-back Most Outstanding Performer awards to start February.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Georgia finished up a 2-0 homestand prior to Saturday's action. UGA downed Delaware State and UT Martin last weekend, 15-4 and 17-2, respectively. Those wins broke a four-meet skid in SEC play. The Bulldogs have had success this season, climbing up in the rankings as high as No. 2 on Nov. 12
Georgia is led by a strong Jumping Seat unit that came in at No. 5 in Flat and No. 2 in Fences in the second NCEA event rankings of the season.
