Frogs honor 15 seniors
FORT WORTH – Putting up a raw score of 1553.5, the No. 8-ranked TCU equestrian team took down No. 6-ranked Georgia, 10-9, Saturday afternoon at Diamond Creek Ranch. The Horned Frogs would also take home the Horsemanship Most Outstanding Performer.
TCU honored 15 seniors, three support staff members and Jumping Seat horse, Flash, following the meet.
DIRECTOR OF EQUESTRIAN HALEY SCHOOLFIELD
"We had a really high level of riding all the way around. There was a lot of head-to-head, high-level, mistake-free rides, we came up on the right side of some and not others. Overall, I am very impressed on how we rode today, especially the reiners, this was a big win for them. I am very proud of how they have dug in and worked hard this year. We definitely needed this win for our confidence, we have been riding well, just coming up short in places. It was nice that we could pull together as a group."
On the senior class:
"This is probably one of the most impactful senior classes we have had not only in size, but in what they have accomplished both athletically and academically. They are ladies of high character, excellent riders, fantastic athletes, they are going to leave big shoes to fill."
