No. 15 TCU will play two matches on Myrtle Beach against Coastal Carolina and College of Charleston
FORT WORTH -- TCU beach volleyball (11-4) takes its spring break road trip to Myrtle Beach for the Coastal Carolina Invitational. The Horned Frogs will be taking on Coastal Carolina at 8 a.m. CDT before coming back at noon to battle the College of Charleston.
FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs are coming off a 2-1 showing at the Day of Duels in Atlanta. TCU defeated North Florida and Mercer, 4-1 after dropping a 3-2 contest to the hosts, Georgia State.
Three Frogs finished the day with perfect 3-0 records, led by Olivia Beyer. Beyer played all three matches at the No. 1 pair without dropping a set. She has now won a team-best 12 matches this season, including 10 of her last 11 matches, all at No. 1. Avery Arellano and Hailey Brockett also delivered perfect performances as both players won all three of their matches, playing in the No. 3, 4 and 5 pairings.
TCU is now 4-1 in neutral site matches this season and will be looking for their first true-road victory over when they play Coastal Carolina.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Coastal Carolina enters play after a 3-1 weekend at the COFC Beach Bash in Charleston, S.C. The Chanticleers are 10-2 on the year with losses to UNC Wilmington and No. 18 Georgia State. The GSU loss was their only match against a ranked opponent to-date. That will change when the Horned Frogs come to town, Friday morning.
College of Charleston has played a difficult schedule and enters play with a 3-6 record as a result. The Cougars lost all four matches against ranked opponents, USC, Grand Canyon, Florida State and South Carolina, in the first weekend before going 3-2 last weekend, defeating Mercer twice and St. Leo while dropping contests with Georgia State and Coastal Carolina.
