FORT WORTH – TCU, along with Cal, Northwestern and South Carolina, are set to face off next season in Kansas City, Mo., in the championship rounds of the 2020 Hall of Fame Classic Powered by ShotTracker, Nov. 23-24 at Sprint Center. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the field today.
"We are really excited to compete at the 2020 Hall of Fame Classic," said TCU head coach Jamie Dixon. "This is always the signature event for the NABC and it's an honor to be a part of it and the College Basketball Experience."
The Hall of Fame Classic Powered by ShotTracker will be the culminating event of college basketball's Hall of Fame Weekend, which also includes the 15th annual induction ceremony for the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. That event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 22 in Kansas City.
The semifinal rounds will be held Monday, Nov. 23. The finals will take place the following day, Tuesday, Nov. 24, beginning with the consolation game, followed by the championship game. All four contests will be aired on an ESPN network.
TCU is 0-2 all-time against Cal and 2-1 against Northwestern. The Frogs have never played South Carolina.
Under Dixon, TCU has won three of its four mid-season tournaments. The Frogs won the 2016 Global Sports Classic in Las Vegas, Nev., the 2017 Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla., and the 2018 Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
