
TCU Falls to No. 4 SMU

Frogs record second-best raw score of season.
DALLAS – The No. 7-ranked TCU equestrian team fell to No. 4-ranked SMU, 17-1, Saturday afternoon at the Dallas Equestrian Center.
THE RUNDOWN
The morning began with Horsemanship action where TCU (5-7, 2-4 Big 12) came out firing, with Cydney Benes and Jamie Cook both tallying scores of 75 in the first round of rides. Neither were able to win their point, however as Benes was bested by 0.5 points and Cook had a no point on Pete. Mattie Dukes was the lone point winner for the Frogs, tying an event high 75.5 on Desi.
SMU (7-3, 2-0 ECAC) won 4-0 in Flat competition. TCU has a pair of 86s coming from Izzy Baxter and Misty Redd, but no Mustang scored lower than an 85 giving SMU four points. Baxter rode to a no point on Rosie. SMU's Miranda Seade scored an event high 91 on Elliot.
After an intermission, the Frogs and Mustangs picked up action in Fences competition where SMU won, 5-0. The Mustangs rallied behind scores of 87 and 86 in the event to pick up the win, Baxter also put together the highest score in the event recording an 82 on Dillon.
SMU also took Reining as Carly Lombard and Claire Dittrich both recorded scores of 72.5. SMU was led by Holly Lansidel who rode to a 74 on Tinsel. Lansidel was named the event MOP. Kaitlyn Baker scored her career high with a 72.

- TCU falls to 6-5 in the all-time series against SMU. The Mustangs won their fourth straight home meet.
- The Frogs had their second-best raw score of the season at 1528.
- The Frogs were held without an MOP for only the third time this season and the second time in the last three weeks.
- TCU lost for the first time all season when scoring more than 1500 points.
- Alex Beneson made her 70th career appearance in competition for the horned Frogs.
- Josie Mootz and Carly Lombard both made their 63rd appearance as a Frog, putting them at third all-time in single-event appearances.
- Kaitlyn Baker set a new career-high with her Reining score of 72.

The Frogs will be back in action next Saturday as they host Georgia for Senior Day. TCU will be honoring 15 seniors for their contributions to the program.
