FORT WORTH -- The No. 12-ranked TCU men's tennis team (5-4) hopes to continue to build momentum after posting a 2-1 record at the ITA Indoor National Championships when it battles SMU and No. 40 USF this weekend. The match against the Mustangs will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, in Dallas. The Horned Frogs host USF on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 12:30 p.m. in Fort Worth.

FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs bring an excellent run of form into the weekend. The team is coming off back-to-back sweeps over Top-10 opponents – 4-0 vs. No. 10 NC State and 4-0 vs. No. 6 Texas A&M.
TCU was tremendous in doubles play last weekend, going 6-1. In duel play this season, the Horned Frogs are 15-6 in doubles matches and have won the doubles point in seven of nine matches. As a result, TCU has two teams ranked in the Oracle ITA doubles rankings – Alastair Gray/Jacob Fearnley, No. 19 and Sander Jong/Tadeas Paroulek, No. 57.
Sophomore Luc Fomba had a tremendous weekend of action, winning two singles matches at the No. 2 position including a stretch in which he won 19 of 20 games. His efforts were rewarded with a 46-spot jump in the Oracle ITA singles rankings, up to No. 79.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
SMU enters the weekend with an 8-4 record. TCU will be the third match of the weekend for the Mustangs as they host USF on Friday and Pomona-Pitzer Saturday morning. SMU is 1-2 against Power Five opponents this season. The win came against Nebraska, 4-3, with losses coming to No. 49 LSU, 4-0, and No. 5 Texas, 6-1.
TCU leads the all-time series with SMU, 31-27 and currently hold a 10-match win-streak against the crosstown rivals.
USF currently stands at 5-2, earning the No. 40 spot in the team rankings. The Bulls are 0-2 against ranked opponents, falling to No. 6 Florida in the ITA Weekend Kickoff before dropping a match to No. 7 Columbia earlier this month.
This will be the sixth all-time meeting between TCU and USF. The Horned Frogs lead the series, 5-0.
