Isabel Pascual Montalvo collects two singles wins to lead TCU
FORT WORTH -- TCU Women's Tennis gained valuable experience over the weekend at the Aggie Halloween Classic in College Station, Texas. TCU sent four student-athletes to compete and continue preparations for the 2021 spring campaign. The Horned Frogs were met with strong competition from Baylor, Rice and the hosts, Texas A&M.
Freshman Isabel Pascual Montalvo led the team with a pair of singles victories over the weekend to extend her fall singles record to a team-best 7-5 in her first season of collegiate competition. She has proven to be strong addition to the roster as she finished with victories over competitors from Baylor and Rice.
Margaret Polk notched her fifth singles victory of the fall campaign over the weekend, taking down Baylor freshman Caroline Kotarski in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday. Polk has shown marked improvement in her game after a full year in the program. She reached the semifinals of the ITA Regional consolation singles bracket two weeks ago before collecting another singles win this weekend.
The Horned Frogs will return to the practice courts this week before making their final road trip of the fall this coming weekend. TCU will go to Stillwater, Okla. To participate in the Big 12 Fall Finale this coming weekend, Nov. 6-8.
