WACO, Texas -- TCU volleyball couldn't find the run it needed against the No. 2 Baylor Bears, dropping a three-set match, 3-0 on Saturday evening inside the Ferrell Center.
"Hats off to Baylor for a great performance today," head coach Jill Kramer said. "We are looking forward to getting back in the gym and prepping for our home opener in Schollmaier Arena on Thursday."
TCU NOTABLES:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 (BU, 25-17): The first set started off as even as it gets. Both teams held a sideout percentage at 70 percent through the first twenty points and the score was tied, 10-10. But the kills were harder to come by toward the end of the set. Baylor would go on a 5-0 run to jump ahead, 13-20, and hold on for an eight-point win. Myers was a strong presence in the middle, matching her previous career-best with three kills in just one set. Georgiades led the defense with four digs
Set 2 (BU, 25-10): Baylor jumped in front, 10-5 in the second set due to some strong play on the back row. TCU was working to get the looks they wanted on offense but the ball couldn't find an inch of room to drop on the Baylor side of the net. Adams led the team with three kills, Georgiades paced the back row once again, with four digs.
Set 3 (BU, 25-15): The story continued in the third set as the Horned Frogs kept chasing down loose balls and working for rallies but the end results tended to favor BU. Swanson made her presence felt, cashing in for four kills to lead the team.
UP NEXT:
The Horned Frogs return to Fort Worth for the first home series in Schollmaier Arena. TCU hosts Texas Tech for a Thursday and Friday series against the Red Raiders. Both matches will begin at 5 p.m. and both will be streamed on Big12 Now on ESPN+.
