Three Frogs Earn Big 12 Preseason Honors

IRVING, Texas – Heading into the 2026 season, Jalyn Gibson, Evan Hendrix and Becca Kelley were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team and TCU was voted to finish second in the conference by the league's head coaches.
The Horned Frog trio highlights the Big 12's Preseason Team, taking up three of the 19 spots, tied with Arizona State and BYU for the most from a single school.
For the third straight year, Gibson finds herself on the conference's preseason award list. She missed the 2025 season after suffering an ACL injury against Penn State in the second match of the year, but is back and ready to be a key contributor to the Frogs' offense in her fifth and final season in purple.
Hendrix is coming off a breakout sophomore season where she became the seventh AVCA All-American in program history, collecting third team honors. Lining up on the outside, the Scottsdale, Arizona, native recorded 543 kills on the year, the second most in the Big 12 and 10th most in all of D1 volleyball. She was also a unanimous First Team All-Big 12 selection, leading the league with 4.96 kills per set in conference matches in 2025.
Kelley thrived for the Frogs last season, collecting All-Big 12 Second Team honors. The Rockwall, Texas, product was the only TCU player to appear in all 123 sets on the season. She logged 359 kills, the second most on the team, and totaled over 400 points for the Frogs.
Head coach Jason Williams has high hopes for the Frogs in 2026 after they were picked to finish second in the Big 12. TCU received 177 points and three first place votes, only trailing defending conference champs Arizona State (194 points, 12 first place votes). Last year, the Big 12 was one of the deepest leagues in the country boasting the No. 1 Conference RPI and sending 10 schools to the NCAA Tournament, the most of any conference.
TCU begins its 2026 season at the Players Era Volleyball Showcase at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, taking on No. 2 Texas (Aug. 29) and UNLV (Aug. 30). Fans can get their first glimpse of the squad for free when the Frogs host Vanderbilt in an exhibition (Aug. 15) and at the annual Purple and White Scrimmage (Aug. 26), both in Schollmaier Arena.
