Duggan Leads TCU Past Texas

Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU has now beat Texas in seven of nine games with a 4-1 record in Austin.
Duggan found the end zone for the second time on the day, scoring from 26 yards to put the Horned Frogs on top 32-29 with 4:01 remaining. Wallow then came up with the big defensive play to seal the win.
After Texas drove the length of the field on its ensuing drive, Keaontay Ingram's push for the goal line at the 1-yard line was stopped short and the football was punched loose by Wallow with Corey Bethley making the recovery with 2:32 to play.
With a 3rd-and-7 at its 4, TCU picked up a key first down with a 9-yard run from Taye Barber. The Horned Frogs then managed to milk the remainder of the clock. With six seconds left, Duggan took the ball from TCU's own 15-yard line and ran out the back of the end zone for a safety as time expired.
TCU opened the scoring on a 1-yard Barlow run with 4:01 to play in the first quarter. It was set up two plays earlier by a Duggan 15-yard keeper to the 1 and capped an 11 play, 67-yard drive. Texas answered on its ensuing possession, tying the game at 7-7 when Sam Ehlinger hit Jake Smith on a 5-yard scoring pass over the middle with 21 seconds to play in the opening quarter.
A 50-yard completion from Duggan to Quentin Johnston, TCU's longest play of the season, put the Horned Frogs at the Texas 26. Two plays later and following a Longhorn penalty, Duggan scored on a 5-yard run to give TCU a 14-7 lead 38 seconds into the second quarter. Four plays later, Texas countered with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Ehlinger to Brennan Eagles to tie the game.
A 27-yard field goal by Kell gave TCU a 17-14 lead with 1:28 left in the first half. On the first play of the Longhorns' next series, La'Kendrick Van Zandt picked off Ehlinger to give the Horned Frogs the ball back. Kell then booted a 32-yard field goal to extend the TCU lead to 20-14.
Fifteen and 28-yard runs by Kendre Miller to open the second half set up a 49-yard Kell field goal, his third of the day, to push the TCU lead to 23-14 with 12:11 left in the third quarter. The Longhorns cut the deficit to 23-21 on a 7-yard pass from Ehlinger to Roschon Johnson on a 4th-and-2 play.
An 11-play, 83-yard drive for TCU, capped by Kell's fourth field goal, from 28 yards, built TCU's lead to 26-21 with 13:36 remaining. A key play on the drive was Blair Conwright's career-long 34-yard reception on the final play of the third quarter.
Texas took back the lead with 9:56 to play in the fourth quarter when Ehlinger found Malcolm Epps from 7 yards out. The Longhorns' two-point attempt was good and the home team pushed its lead to three points at 29-26.
Duggan finished the game completing 20-of-30 passes for 231 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns on a team-best 79 yards rushing.
