TCU travels to Dallas for its third race of the season
FORT WORTH – TCU's men's and women's cross country teams compete on Saturday at the Gerald Richey Invitational at the Jesse Owen Sport Complex in Dallas.
The women's 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. followed by the men's 5K at 8 a.m. Teams competing include UT Arlington, Dallas Baptist, Louisiana, Midwestern State, North Texas, Texas Wesleyan and Southeastern Oklahoma,
Mariah Castillo is coming off an individual title at the Ken Garland Invitational where she ran a 18:02.32 this past weekend. Junior Evelyn Mandel crossed second for TCU's women in Denton, placing third with a 19:00.44 mark.
Lakelin Conrad led the men at the Ken Garland Invitational, crossing in 22.15.57 and placing 16th in the 4-mile. Samuel Busa followed directly behind him, placing 17th with a time of 22:26.83.
TCU's women's squad is ranked 14th in the South Central Region by the USTFCCCA.
The Gerald Richey Invitational is named after former Maverick assistant track and field coach Gerald Richey who passed away at the age of 83 on Aug. 30. Richey retired in 2013 after working at UTA for 19 years.
The Jesse Owen Sport Complex is a multi-sport complex located at 9191 South Polk St., Dallas, Texas, 75232. Admission and parking are both free.
