Bright tallies two goals and two assists in the win
The Rundown
After some near misses early in the game, once the Horned Frogs hit paydirt, they did so often. Messiah Bright opened the scoring in the 12thminute on a beautiful feed from Tara Smith. Bright broke free of her defender and had her pick of location to bury the first tally of the game.
Just over 30 seconds later, Yazmeen Ryan made it 2-0 with her first goal of the year. Grace Collins hit Ryan in stride in the middle of the 18 and her shot was unstoppable into the lower left corner.
Gracie Brian pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 22ndminute. Collins again had the touch as she put the ball in a perfect spot for Brian to head it in for her first of the game.
More domination in the second half followed as Brian, Bright and Maddy Warren found the back of the net. Bright found Brian alone at the top of the 18 in the 54thminute and she didn't miss, notching her second of the game.
Just under five minutes later, Bright netted her second of the night. Smith made the play, finding Bright for the one-timer and a 5-0 lead in the 59thminute. Maddy Warren capped the scoring with a blistering turnaround shot from the top of the 18 in the 65thminute.
Emily Alvarado and Annika Vadset combined on the shutout. The duo faced just two shots with Alvarado making the lone save.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game
"Good performance for the most part. There were some pieces in the game where we should have been better and sharper, but overall I am happy with the performance. Obviously scoring six goals against a worthy opponent is always nice. We scored a lot of different ways so that is always a positive. We are happy with the result but the focus now is to get better and be prepared for Sunday."
Playing at home
"It's always nice to play in the friendly confines. We are used to it, we train on it all the time. We are used to the dimensions and how it plays. It's a wonderful surface. Andrew and the guys do an outstanding job taking care of the field. It's always nice to play in front of the home fans. We've got alumni in the stands. They are young alumni so they can relate to what's going. It's nice to see them in the stands."
