FORT WORTH, Texas – Entering her fourth season as a member of the TCU women's basketball coaching staff, Britney Brown has been promoted to Associate Coach.
"Britney Brown is very deserving of this opportunity," TCU head coach Raegan Pebley said. "She has made a strong impact on our program's development both on the floor, in recruiting and in building our culture. She serves our student athletes, our university and our community with a servant's heart and a massive work ethic."
Last year, Brown played an integral role in helping lead the Frogs a 24-11 overall record and their second consecutive appearance in the WNIT Semifinals. The 24 wins tied for the second-most in a single season in program history, while TCU also set program records with 17 home wins and 10 Big 12 Conference victories during the 2018-19 campaign.
That season was a continuation of the upward trend the Frogs have been on after recording 23 wins, advancing to the WNIT Semifinal and earning a top-25 ranking for three weeks during the 2017-18 season. The national ranking was TCU's first since 2010.
Working primarily with TCU's guards, Brown has been instrumental in the growth of TCU's young guard corps. Kianna Ray was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2017-18 after leading the Frogs in assists and steals while ranking second in blocks. Last season, both Ray and sophomore Lauren Heard finished among the top-15 of all Big 12 players in assists, assist/turnover ratio and steals.
Brown arrived at TCU after previously coaching at Nebraska, Tulsa, Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, Okla., and her alma mater, Oklahoma.
