FORT WORTH, Texas – With three internationally-acclaimed student-athletes headed to Fort Worth this fall, the TCU men's tennis team has earned a No. 4 national ranking in the annual list of Top-25 Recruiting Classes, presented by Tennis Recruiting and Mizuno.
At No. 4, this year's class is ranked higher in the TRN/Mizuno poll than any other in school history, topping the previous high of No. 11 in 2014. The Horned Frogs were also ranked No. 20 in 2011 and No. 22 in 2007.
Joining the Frogs this fall will be Jacob Fearnley from Great Britain, as well as a pair of players from the Czech Republic in Tomas Jirousek and Tadeas Paroulek.
That trio was impressive enough to earn 382 points, including five first-place votes, in this year's TRN/Mizuno poll which enlisted the aid of junior tennis experts from all facets of the game to determine the top classes.
TCU was one of just three teams in the poll to earn first-place votes, joining top-ranked Texas (5) and No. 2 Duke (8). Rounding out the top five in poll were No. 3 Georgia and No. 5 Ohio State. The Frogs were one of four Big 12 teams to be ranked as Oklahoma and Baylor came in at No. 9 and No. 11, respectively.
