
TCU to Host First Round of WNIT Thursday

Frogs to take on Prairie View A&M
FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU women's basketball team has been selected to play in the 2019 Postseason WNIT and will host Prairie View A&M at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena on Thursday in the tournament's first round. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
The game between the Horned Frogs and Panthers can be seen on GoFrogs.com/HFTV. Tickets are available through the TCU Ticket Office at GoFrogs.com or by calling 877-828-3764 beginning Tuesday evening. Tickets are available beginning at $11 for adults, $6 for youth and $4 for groups. TCU students will be admitted for free.
TCU (20-10) is making its 16th postseason appearance in the last 19 seasons, including its seventh overall WNIT appearance. The Frogs advanced to the WNIT semifinals a year ago, winning their first four games of the tournament. TCU is 9-6 all-time in the WNIT, including a 6-1 record in Fort Worth.
This season, TCU enters the WNIT after winning 20 games for the second consecutive season. The Frogs also won 10 Big 12 games, their most since joining the league.
Prairie View A&M is currently 17-13 overall, including a 13-5 record which was good for a second-place finish the Southwestern Athletic Conference. TCU is 8-0 all-time against the Panthers with its last win coming in 2015.
The winner of Thursday's game between TCU and Prairie View A&M will take on the winner between UT-Arlington and Stephen F. Austin who also play on Thursday in Arlington, Texas. The date and location of that game will be determined at a later date.
TCU was selected as an at-large team and is one of two Big 12 teams participating in the WNIT, joining West Virginia.
The Postseason WNIT is a 64-team, single-elimination tournament with all games, including the semifinals and championship, being hosted by participating schools. The bracket is comprised of 32 automatic berths and 32 at-large berths.
