Fort Worth, Texas – The TCU women's basketball program announced the signing of Tavy Diggs (Richardson, Texas) and Maddi Puli (Werribee, Victoria, Australia) to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, the first day of the NCAA's early signing period.
Diggs and Puli will join the Horned Frogs as true freshmen for the 2019-20 season.
"We are really excited about adding these two quality young women to our program," TCU head coach Raegan Pebley said. "I love the character, I love the fit, I love the skill, and I love the length, but I especially love the potential that both Maddi and Tavy have to be great here at TCU."
Tavy Diggs (6-2 – G – Richardson, Texas – Plano East HS)
A 6-foot-2 guard, Diggs comes to TCU from Richardson, Texas, and Plano East High School. She is rated as a 4-star recruit by Prospects Nation and ESPN Hoopgurlz lists her as the 18th-best wing in this year's recruiting class.
As a junior, Diggs averaged 14.6 points and 9.2 rebounds en route to being named the 2017 District 6-6A Most Valuable Player. She was also tabbed an honorable mention on the 2018 Dallas Morning News All-Area Team.
Raegan Pebley on Tavy Diggs:
"Tavy is driven, competitive and locked in. She is loyal to her family and committed to being her best. Her gifts are plenty and we are so happy to have her join our program."
Tavy Diggs on TCU:
"I chose TCU because I believe the coaching staff can help me develop into a well-rounded player, mentally and physically. I think TCU can help with building a positive foundation for my life after basketball."
Maddi Puli (6-2 – G/F – Werribee, Victoria, Australia – MacKillop College)
Puli, a 6-foot-2 guard/forward, comes to TCU from Werribee, Victoria, Australia, and is the 11th player from Down Under that Raegan Pebley has signed as a head coach, joining fellow Australians Ella Hellessey and Anneli Maley on the current Horned Frogs roster.
Puli is one of the top players in Australia and is currently playing her representative basketball for the Dandenong Rangers u18 squad. She is also a developmental player for the Jayco Rangers WNBL team.
She has also represented Australia internationally, winning a gold medal with the national team at the 2017 U17 Oceania Championship in Guam where she averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. She was the team's top scorer against the Marshall Islands with 27 points.
Puli has also played extensively within the Victoria Metro program, winning the 2017 Helloworld Australian U-18 Junior Championships where she averaged 8.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. In addition, she has played on the Vic Metro u16 and 17 teams in previous years and was part of the 2014 National Intensive Training Program.
Raegan Pebley on Maddi Puli:
"The work that Maddi has put in the past has prepared her for the future. She is chock full of toughness and we can't wait to have her as part of our program here in Fort Worth."
Maddi Puli on TCU:
"I chose TCU because it felt like a place I could call home with such a family-oriented program. The environment around campus was so friendly and I feel like it is somewhere I can see myself fitting in very easily. After visiting TCU, I know that all of the coaches in the program and all of the players on the team will be a great support and give me the opportunity to grow as both a basketball player and a person."
