No. 21 TCU Defeats Fresno State

Alex Robinson and Kevin Samuel record double-doubles
FORT WORTH, Texas – Highlighted by Desmond Bane's 23-point performance, the No. 21 ranked TCU Horned Frogs defeated Fresno State 77-69 on Thursday.
It was the starters who got the job done for the Frogs, as all five scored in double figures and accounted for 97.4 percent of the team's total offense.
Following a Fresno State basket, the Frogs went on a 10-0 run to start the game. Bane and Alex Robinson picked up where they left off in their previous game as Bane scored eight points and grabbed four boards in the first half.
The defense played well in the opening half, holding the Bulldogs to 33.3 percent shooting from the field, but the Frogs headed into the locker room trailing 31-29 after a last second jumper by Fresno State.
With 18:09 to play in the game, Bane hit a 3-pointer to give the Frogs the lead and reignite the TCU offense. The Frogs hit 66.7 percent from the field and led by as many as 12 points on their way to a third straight victory.
For the third straight game, TCU had four or more players score in double figures. Bane, who played all 40 minutes, notched his second straight game with 20 or more points. Samuel scored 14 points and had an additional 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double. Robinson also tallied his fourth career double-double, with 13 points and 14 assists.
JD Miller and RJ Nembhard also scored in double figures with 14 and 11, respectively. As a team, the Frogs shot over 50 percent from the field (51.7) for the second straight game.

- Alex Robinson finished with 13 points marking the 50th time in his career with double-digit points.
- Robinson led the team in assists for the second time this season and 56th time in his TCU career after recording a season-high 14 on the night. He's played in 73 games at TCU.
- Desmond Bane scored 23 points, his fifth-career game with 20 or more points. He also tied his career-high in field goals made with 10.
- In his last three games, Bane has excelled in the second half and is currently averaging 14.3 second half points. He has scored 43 of his 59 points this season in the second half.
- Bane played all 40 minutes of tonight's game, his second time playing 40 or more and the first time in his career that he has played in every minute of a game.
- Keven Samuel shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and led the team with six blocks and 10 rebounds. He was the first Horned Frog with six blocks in a game since Marlon Dumont had six against Southern Miss on Jan. 26, 2002.
- Redshirt freshman Lat Mayen scored his first collegiate basket on a shot off the glass and also finished with one block.
- RJ Nembhard scored a career-high 11 points and also recorded two blocks.
