TCU Splits Final Fall Scrimmage

TCU beat Texas A&M Corpus Christi but falls to Houston Baptist on Sunday.
FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU beach volleyball team closed out the fall scrimmage season by going 1-1 on Sunday at the Texas Image Volleyball Sand Courts.
The Horned Frogs started off strong by beating Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, 4-1, but lost to Houston Baptist University, 3-2, in a hard-fought match that went down to the wire.
All four of TCU's wins against the Islanders came in straight sets. The No. 3 pair of Haven Hill and Avery Arellano led the way with a 21-10, 21-12 win over Emma Coudon and Brooke Adkisson.
After splitting the matches at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions against Houston Baptist, the top-three pairs all went down on the first set versus the Huskies. The Frogs dug deep and cleaned up their miscues to force a third set on all three courts. Knowing they needed to win two, Haven Hill and Molly Scheel played in a back-and-forth set in which they came out on top, 18-16, to beat Bailey Banks and Kylie Bryan.
The top pair of Molly Lohman and Jaelyn Greene were the last match of scrimmage and they went into the third set against Aeriel Horton and Tori Hinojosa with momentum after winning the second 21-15, but the HBU pair won out in the end with a third set victory of 15-7.
