COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The TCU men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up regular season competition at the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday. Facing against several Big 12, SEC, and South Central teams, the women's team finished 13th overall.

Kelly Fairchild and Emily Suarez both ran their best races of the season, improving their season marks to 23:36.8 and 24:02.3 respectively. Isabella Aguiar rounded out the top seven at 24:25.2.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
For the second meet, TCU's men's team was led by the freshman trio of Sean Byrne, Lakelin Conrad, and Blaine Stuart. Byrne improved his season mark by nearly 30 seconds, finishing in 26:10.4 on Saturday. Conrad and Stuart finished in 26:42.3 and 27:04.0 respectively. Patrick LaCour (27:46.5), Henry Butz (28:01.1), Payton Stanley (28:07.3), and Dylan Brokmeyer (28:09.7) rounded out TCU's top seven.
COACH'S THOUGHTS
"On the women's side, I thought our top three raced really well," cross country coach Jennifer Fazioli said. "They moved up the entire way which is always encouraging on a humid and windy day. On our back end, a couple of our girls like Kelly Fairchild and Emily Suarez took steps forward today. It was a mixed bag of results, but overall, we're headed in the right direction. For the guys, they're working much better as a team. I'm starting to see what I see in workouts and that's translating into races. We still have some steps to take, but fortunately we still have a few weeks before conferences."
UP NEXT
The Horned Frogs will compete at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 26, in Ames, Iowa. Following the conference meet, TCU open postseason competition with a return to College Station for the NCAA South Central Regional meet, scheduled for Friday, November 9.
