
10 Earn Academic All-Big 12

FORT WORTH, Texas – 10 members of the TCU men's and women's tennis teams were honored by the Big 12 Conference on Tuesday afternoon by being named to the 2017 Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams.
Hudson Blake, Reese Stalder, Alex Rybakov, Maire Norris and Aleksandra Zenovka were the First Team selections, while Cameron Norrie, Guillermo Nuñez, Trey Daniel, Olaya Garrido-Rivas and Caroline Wegner were named to the Second Team.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
Both the TCU men's and women's tennis teams are headed to the Big 12 Championship that will be held in Norman, Okla., from April 27-30 at the Headington Family Tennis Center. The men earned the No. 1 seed and a first round bye and will face the winner of the Texas vs Oklahoma match on Friday at 10 a.m. The women also earned a first round bye and will face Texas on Friday at 1 p.m.
