
MTEN Preseason Rankings Released

FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU men's tennis team had three singles players ranked along with one doubles team in the very first Oracle/ITA national poll of the 2016-17 season as announced on Tuesday.
Two-time ITA All-America honoree Cameron Norrie tied for the highest ranking of his career as the junior checks in at No. 2 in the singles poll. Joining Norrie on the singles side is fellow junior Guillermo Nuñez who sits at No. 56 while senior Jerry Lopez earned a No. 99 ranking. Trevor Johnson and Reese Stalder earned the team's only doubles ranking as the pair sit at No. 41.
The selections for the 2016 Saint Francis Health System/ITA Men's All-American Championships were also released with TCU earning a spot in at least one main draw. Norrie was selected for the main draw in singles, while Nuñez and Lopez were awarded spots in the qualifying singles draw. The pair of Stalder and Johnson will see action starting in the qualifying doubles, while Nuñez and Lopez are the third alternates for the draw. Stalder and Johnson will also compete in pre-qualifying singles along with Eduardo Nava and Gianni Mancini.
TCU is coming off one of its most successful seasons in men's tennis history, as the team won the regular season and tournament Big 12 Championship. The Frogs finished a program-high No. 3 in the final Oracle/ITA rankings, while Alex Rybakov became the first player in program history to be named ITA Men's National Rookie of Year. Norrie earned his second singles All-America honors and became the first player in program history to advance to the singles Final Four at the NCAA Championships.
