FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU men's tennis head coach David Roditi has announced the addition of Gregory Anderson and Gianni Mancini to the roster for the 2015-16 season.
Anderson, who hails from Tucson, Ariz., and Mancini, who is from local Irving, Texas, will join the team as freshmen for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
"We are excited to have Greg and Gianni join the TCU tennis family," Roditi said. "Greg has a lot of experience and has traveled to many places throughout the world for competition and training. We love his tennis fundamentals, fitness and work ethic. We expect him to push each teammate on a daily basis with his energy level and his tennis skills and it is also great to add another American junior player.
"Gianni is very well respected among his peers and his coaches and I look for him to make an immediate impact with his work ethic, attitude, and leadership. We are always happy and excited to have a local Texas player come and join our program and he will continue to develop and help our team."
Anderson is a 4-star recruit, the No. 2 ranked player in the 2015 class from Arizona and he ranks in the top-100 nationally at No. 96. Anderson was a top-5 player in the nation in the Boys' 12s division and captured a couple of National Open titles, as well as the Muterspaw Championship in Las Vegas. Anderson has also represented the USTA Southwest Region at the Boys' 18s Team Championships.
Mancini arrives in Fort Worth from Lakes Tennis Academy in Frisco where he was a 4-star recruit and the No. 20 ranked player in the class of 2015 in Texas. Nationally, Mancici is ranked No. 144 and sits at No. 22 in the Gulf States Region rankings.
Anderson and Mancini join Reese Stalder (Fr./Coast Mesa, Calif.) as members of the 2015 TCU men's tennis recruiting class.
The Horned Frogs are coming off one of their best seasons in program history, as the team advanced to its fourth Final Four in program history and finished the season ranked No. 4 in the final ITA poll. Roditi was named Wilson/ITA National Coach of the Year, while Cameron Norrie became the 22nd Horned Frog and 44th All-America selection in TCU men's tennis program history.
