Sand Volleyball Finishes in Arizona

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU sand volleyball team concluded competition in Arizona with 5-0 losses to No. 19 Grand Canyon and New Mexico, on Sunday in Phoenix at the GCU Sand Volleyball Courts.
The Horned Frogs (0-5) opened against its third ranked opponent of the season in the No. 19 Antelopes (2-0) and finished the day with New Mexico (1-1).
TCU faced off with Grand Canyon to open the double header, with the Antelopes finishing off all five matches in straight sets. The Frogs battled point-for-point on most courts, but could not overcome Grand Canyon's experience.
TCU next faced another team in its inaugural season in the Lobos. At the No. 1 court, Natalie Gower and Shane Peter took the first set off of Hannah Johnson and Chloe Crappell, 21-15, but could not hold onto the momentum, as the New Mexico pair took the final two sets, 22-20, 15-6 to steal the victory.
New Mexico proved to be too much for the Frogs, as the Lobos swept up the other four courts in straight sets.
The Frogs will move into California for the final part of their trip and will stop in Northridge, Calif., to face Cal State Northridge on Tuesday, March 10 at 4 p.m., CT.
