Draws Announced for Indoor Nationals

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Two singles competitors will be in action this weekend for the TCU men's tennis team as the draws were announced this morning for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships that will run from Nov. 12-15 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
Leading the way will be No. 2 seed and No. 15 nationally ranked sophomore Cameron Norrie, who punched his ticket to the tournament for the second straight season by claiming the singles title at the first-ever Oracle/ITA Masters that took place in September. Norrie will be joined by No. 19 Guillermo Nuñez, who earned at at-large bid into the tournament and competed in the Oracle/ITA Masters and made the quarterfinals at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships.
Norrie has a 4-0 record in college action and also won his first professional tournament this fall when he won seven straight matches to win the Futures of Mansfield. The Auckland, New Zealand native will open the tournament with No. 50 Alex Ghilea of Oklahoma on Thursday at 11:30 a.m., CDT.
Nuñez is 4-2 this fall season and will take part in the indoor championships for the first time in his career. The Santiago, Chile native will take on Skander Mansouri of Wake Forest in the opening round on Thursday also at 11:30 a.m., CDT.
