FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU battled numerous rain delays and location changes, but had a doubles team advance to the semifinals and a singles player make it into the quarterfinals this past week at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships that were held in College Station, Texas at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M.
After winning a tournament earlier this season, Seda Arantekin and Caroline Wegener paired back up again and made a run to the semi-finals. The duo opened with a 7-6 victory over Maria Kononova and Tamuna Kutubidze of UNT, before easily handling Alison Ho and Katherine Ip of Rice, 6-2. The quarterfinals brought the duo up against Macie Elliott and Mary Wright of SMU, which they again dominated, 6-2. Arantekin was stopped short of making her second straight appearance in the doubles final, as the pair were downed 6-2 by Rutuja Bhosale and Anna Mamalat of Texas A&M.
Aleksandra Zenovka continued her strong fall run by making her way to the quarterfinals on the singles side of the tournament. The sophomore scored another victory over a ranked opponent in the Round of 16 by defeating No. 94 Sarah Dvorak of Texas Tech, 3-6, 6-1, 10-6. In only her second collegiate tournament, freshman Marie Norrie was able to make it to the Round of 16, before falling to No.31 Saska Gavrilovska of Texas A&M, 6-3, 7-6(4).

TCU will wrap-up fall competition in the month of November by participating in two professional tournaments and two collegiate tournaments. Select Horned Frogs will take part of in the Waco $50K and the Scottsdale $50K, while other members of the team will play in the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament and the UNLV Invite.
