
Men's Tennis Heads to ITA All-Americans

FORT WORTH, Texas - Members of the TCU men's tennis team will head to Tulsa, Okla., to participate in the pre-qualifying, qualifying and main draw of the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships starting on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Trey Daniel, Will Stein, Hudson Blake and Trevor Johnson will be the first players up for TCU, as all four will take part in the prequalifying singles bracket on Sept. 27-Sept. 28. The Horned Frogs must win three consecutive matches to move on to the qualifying bracket.
Arnau Dachs and Guillermo Nuñez will start competition on Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in the qualifying bracket of singles and will also pair up to take part in the qualifying doubles bracket. Daniel and Johnson will join the duo in the bracket, with each tandem needing three wins to earn a berth into the doubles main draw bracket.
No. 5 Nick Chappell and Stein found themselves automatically in the main draw of doubles, which will take place on Oct. 2-6. Chappell, who earned a No. 34 preseason singles ranking, will also take part in the main draw singles bracket.
The Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships is the first leg of the collegiate grand slam. Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Nov. 6-9 in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
