In all, the Horned Frogs, who moved to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in Big 12 Conference play, outscored the Bears inside the Willis Equestrian Center, 1,514.5-1,430.5. TCU couldn't make up the difference in the end despite the Hunt Seat side winning in Waco for the first time in program history, 5-4.
"We give Baylor today the nod for the win," said Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield. "We were proud of how hard our student-athletes fought in winning three out of the four events. Now, we will go back to work on Monday and start our preparation for Oklahoma State."
Sophomore Kari Hancock continued her winning ways Friday in Equitation on the Flat, dropping Paige Parker, 82-77. With the win, the Alaska native improved to 3-0 on the season and captured her third-straight MOP accolade. Senior Kaitlin Perry was just as dangerous in the discipline, upending Savannah Jenkins, 78-71, while Molly Peddicord battled to a 74-74 draw versus Alicia Gasser.
In Equitation over Fences, Nicole Diamantis and Emelie Burgess both posted wins, dropping Parker and Brittney Mirkov, respectively. Perry moved to 2-0 on the day, scoring an 85 on Kirk to improve to 3-0 on the young season and post her first MOP of the year.
On the Western side, the Horned Frogs battled Baylor toe-to-toe Friday, recording a 3-2 decision in Reining, but couldn't overcome some slight setbacks. Katie Gray was once again dominant, ousting Parris Rice, 73.5-73, en route to an MOP ride. Shelby St. Hilaire and Chantz Stewart also claimed victories, upending Michelina Carbone and Elizabeth Shank, respectively, to round out the TCU notables.
The Frogs will next be in action versus Oklahoma State on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Turing Point Ranch in Springtown.
