Burgess came to TCU from Wethersfield, Conn., where she was the 2011 Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association Junior Equitation Medal Champion ... The 2012 CHJA End of Year Junior Equitation Champion, who placed seventh overall at the New England Finals Challenge of the States, also claimed a top-20 finish at the New England Equitation Finals ... An honors student at Mercy High School, Burgess was named the 2013 Leading IEA Hunt Seat Rider of the Year, while also garnering accolades such as the 2013 IEA Open Championship Rider and 2013 IEA Reserve Champion in Open Flat, respectively.
