TULSA, Okla.—Seniors Emanuel Brighiu and Christopher Price were eliminated from doubles competition at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships Wednesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Frogs pairing, the No. 1 seed in the doubles qualifying draw, fell one victory short of advancing to the tournament's main bracket. Georgia Tech's Kevin King and Juan Spir, one of the eight groups seeded Nos. 9-16, came on strong late in the match for an 8-4 victory. The match started out even and was tied at 4-4 before the Yellow Jacket duo pulled away. Brighiu and Price posted a pair of victories to start off the bracket and reach Wednesday's match.
The loss completed TCU's competition at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships. TCU returns to action Saturday, Oct. 9, at an Austin USTA Futures Tournament.
