
Frogs off to strong start at FSU Lexus Golf Classic

The TCU men's golf team got off to a tremendous start at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic as the Horned Frogs found themselves in fourth place out of 20 teams after the first day of action at the Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno, Calif.
The Purple and White notched a 36-hole, six-under-par tally of 570 (288-282) while sitting behind Mountain West Conference-foe San Diego State (552), Texas (588) and the University of California (565) in the standings at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic.
The brother duo of Travis and Jordan Woolf led the Frogs at the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic as they both finished with a five-under-par score of 139 to earn a share of fifth-place. Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) notched the best round of the tournament thus far for the Horned Frogs with a 68 on the second set of 18 holes while Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) collected a 69 in the first round of action.
Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/ James Bowie H.S.) finished the first 36 holes of action tied for 37th overall with a one-over-par score of 145 (74-71) while Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) was two strokes behind his Frog teammate as the TCU senior was tied for 56th overall with a three-over-par score of 147 (74-73).
James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) finished the first two rounds of action with a 36-hole score of 151 (74-77) en route to tying for 80th overall.
The final round of the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic will conclude on Tuesday morning at the Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno, Calif.
