TCU Women's Golf Earns NCAA Central Region Bid

FORT WORTH, Texas - For the eighth consecutive year, the TCU women's golf team has landed a spot in the NCAA Regionals, it was announced by the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee on Monday. The Horned Frogs, rated 29th in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, will play in the Central Regional at the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb. from May 8-10.
The Frogs, seeded 11th in the region, have advanced to the NCAA Championships three times during the past eight seasons under head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin. All three regional tournaments this year will be conducted May 8-10 to determine the championships field. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each region.
A total of 324 participants have been selected for the regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind. from May 20-23.
Conference USA will be sending a league-record four teams to the 2003 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships Regionals. In addition to TCU, South Florida, who defeated the Horned Frogs by one stroke at the Conference USA Championships, Tulane and East Carolina will participate in regional competition.
