
TCU Women One Shot Back After Two Rounds

BOERNE, Texas - The TCU women's golf team, which entered the day with a 13-stroke lead at the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout, slipped into second place at the event after posting a 31-over-par 319 on day two. TCU, with a 41-over 617, trails Missouri (616) by one stroke, while Illinois (621) and Baylor (622) are also in contention with one round to play. The Horned Frogs, victorious at the Waterlefe/USF Invitational, are looking for their second team title in the last week.
Sophomore D'Rae Ward, who also is eyeing her second straight individual championship, remains in first place. She scored a team-best three-over 75 in Monday's second round and owns a two-round score of 143 (-1). Ward leads the 69-player field by three strokes.
Junior Brooke Tull is also among the tournament's top 10. She currently is tied for ninth with a two-day total of 155 (+11). Tull, who shot a 78 in round two, has placed in the top 10 in all but two tourneys so far this season.
Freshman Stephanie Godare (156) opened the tournament with an even-par 72, but posted an 84 (+12) in the second round. Godare is now tied for 15th place overall. Shannon Barr (165) and freshman Traci Robison (166) are TCU's other competitors. Barr is tied for 40th place, while Robinson shares 42nd.
The event is being played at the par-72, 6,007-yard Tapatio Springs Golf Resort in Boerne, Texas. The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday at the Tapatio Springs Resort.
