
TCU Women's Golf in Third Place at the Legends

FRANKLIN, Ind. (Oct. 6, 2003) - The TCU women's golf team sits in third place following the first two rounds of the Shootout at the Legends in Franklin, Ind., while preseason All-American Brooke Tull is tied for second place individually. The Horned Frogs fired a 16-over-par 592 on the day to trail only Kent State (578) and Indiana (586) for the team lead.
Tull, who claimed medalist honors at the season-opening Northwest Invite last month, is eyeing her fourth career tournament title. The senior logged even-par scores of 72 in both the first and second rounds for a 36-hole total of 144. Indiana's Danah Ford holds the individual lead with a one-under-par 143. Tull, the defending Conference USA Player of the Year, is in search of her 12th top-20 finish in her last 13 events.
True freshman Camille Blackerby is also among the field's leaders, as she sits in a share of 15th place. Blackerby fired a team-best round of 70 (-2) to open the event, then carded a 77 in the afternoon round. The Breckenridge, Texas, native is on pace for her first career top-20 finish.
Another true freshman, Catherine Matranga, is tied for 28th with a 150. The Fort Worth Paschal High School product had rounds of 78 and 72 to open the Shootout. Sophomore Traci Robison (151) is just one stroke behind Matranga and currently resides in a tie for 34th. Fellow sophomore Stephanie Godare is tied for 70th (80-79=159) with a plus-15 total.
In the third and final round to be played on Tuesday, the Horned Frogs are paired in the last group with Kent State and host Indiana. The trio is set to tee off beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CT).
