* TCU improved to 7-0 for just the second time since 1939 and the sixth time in its 107-year history. The 2000 squad began the season 7-0 before losing to San Jose State, while the '38 team finished with a perfect 11-0 record and won the national championship. The only other Horned Frog teams that opened 7-0 were the 1920, 1929 and 1935 squads.
