Topping the youthful Horned Frogs was sophomore Shannon Barr, who tied for 20th individually with a 54-hole score of 228. Her nine-over-par total was just three strokes off of a Top 10 finish in a highly-competitive field that included seven ranked schools.
Sophomore Leslie Hawley (T36-233), freshman Brooke Tull (T46-235), freshman Courtney Wood (T46-235) and junior Amy Sands (T72-241) rounded out the Horned Frogs roster. Coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin held with her fall-opening tradition of allowing her young players a chance to get tournament-ready.
Top-ranked Arizona ran away from the 18- team field with a 16-over-par 892, outdistancing Tulsa (897), Pepperdine (904), New Mexico (913) and Oklahoma (915). Arizona also had the top two finishers individually, with Lorena Ochoa shooting a seven-under 212 and Cristina Baena firing an even-par 219.
