TCU Women's Golf Places Ninth at ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz (Apr. 9) - The TCU women's golf team shot a final round 303 to hold on to ninth place to conclude the Ping/ASU Invitational. Arizona paced the field with an eight-over, 872. The Frogs finished with a 908. Tournament hosts Arizona State finished second at 875. New Mexico was third at 889.
Individually, Arizona's Jenna Daniels led wire-to-wire and ran away from the rest of the field. She carded two sub-70 rounds en route to a tournament best 207. Arizona State's Miriam Nagl was second with a three-round total of 215.
TCU senior Anglea Stanford recovered from a four-over par second round to record her second par round of the tournament. Stanford moved up from 16th to finish tied for eighth with a total of 220.
After a sizzling second round, sophomore Lori Sutherland struggled to keep her top-10 placing. Sutherland shot a 79 to finish at 225, dropping from sixth to 28th place. Freshman Shannon Barr finished at 48th with a 231 total. Sophomore Jennifer Patterson ended in 50th place at 232. Senior Brenda Anderson shot a 242 for 81st place.
The Frogs concluded the regular season with this event. They next compete at the Western Athletic Conference Championships April 24-26 in Broken Arrow, Okla.
