2006-07 (SENIOR): Recipient of the prestigious Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar award... Saw action at the No. 6 singles position against Texas State and UT-Arlington... Teamed up with Karine Ionesco at the No. 3 slot to defeat UT-Arlington[apos]s Sofya Lifanova and Marissa Brown, 8-3.
2005-06 (JUNIOR): Went 1-1 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles with Lindsay McBride...Won her first collegiate singles match at the Mean Green Invitational in Denton, Texas, in September by defeating Leja Sirola from Texas State in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, (10-4)...Dropped her next match at the tournament to Janet Durham from Texas Tech by scores of 6-1, 6-1...Teamed with McBride for an 8-6 triumph over Ashley Ellis and Sumarie Muller from Texas State in their first match in Denton...Lost 8-4 to Texas Tech[apos]s Samantha van der Drift and Cigdem Duru in the next round...Also fell 8-5 to Anne Fankam and Katja Kovacic from Texas Tech.
2004-05 (SOPHOMORE): Missed the fall season due to injury...Rejoined the team at the start of the spring semester...Did not play during the spring...Picked up C-USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll accolades for the second year in a row...Made the ITA All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA...Helped the Horned Frogs achieve over a 3.2 GPA as a team, which gave them the ITA All-Academic Team award.
2003-04 (FRESHMAN): Saw limited action as a true freshman...Did not see any action in singles competition, but she teamed with Molly Purdy for two doubles matches at the Omni Hotels/ITA Southwest Regional Championships...Fell 8-1 to LSU[apos]s Caliari and Mang and 8-2 to SMU[apos]s Carson and Kouzmenko...Named to the C-USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll.
High School/Junior: Was a varsity player throughout high school...Attended The Woodlands High School, where she was the varsity team captain during her senior season...Was a ranked junior player in Southern California...Also a ranked junior player in Texas...Member of the SCTA junior player development program...Principal[apos]s honor roll student all four years...Recipient of the academic excellence award.
Personal: ...Gabby Lopez is the daughter of Alfonso and Donna...Is majoring in English and minoring in art at TCU...Older sister, Gloriann, was a standout for the Horned Frogs from 2002-06... In her spare time, she enjoys art...In addition to Gloriann, Lopez has two other siblings, Lee and Gigi.
