• Made six appearances and one start for Head Coach Ty Harrington at Texas State as a freshman.
• Struck out 11 batters in 13.1 innings of work and walked just five batters.
• Combined to shut out one opponent.
Mesquite High School:
• Was a three-year letterwinner at Mesquite High School.
• Played both outfield and pitched.
• Earned first-team all-district and all-city honors as a senior.
• Was the Offensive Player of the Year on the strength of a season in which he hit .404.
