Now in his second year, Mike Buddie was recognized alongside three senior leaders.
FORT WORTH – Four members of TCU's leadership team, including Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, were named to Silver Waves Media's Top Athletic Directors and Top 100 Rising Ads/Future Ads lists, the organization announced over the week.
Buddie, who is nearing completion of his second spring semester on campus, was one of eight Big 12 Athletic Directors named to the list. Since arriving in Fort Worth, the Frogs have won five conference championships and a national championship in beach volleyball. In his first complete season – 2025-26 – the Frogs became one of just two schools in the nation to win a bowl game as well as secure victories in the NCAA tournament in women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball. It also marked the first time in program history that both men's and women's basketball participated in March Madness in the same season. In total, 10 programs concluded their seasons ranked in the top 25.
Joining Buddie in being recognized by the group were two members of his senior leadership team – Senior Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs/Revenue Generation Ryan Peck and Deputy Athletics Director/Athletics Financial Officer Bennett Askew – as well as men's basketball's Assistant Athletics Director for Operations Thomas Montigel.
Peck oversees all TCU external units, including communications, creative content, licensing, marketing and ticketing while also working closely with the Frog Club. Additionally, he serves as TCU's liaison in the partnership with LEARFIELD and Horned Frog Sports Properties. He is the sport administrator for men's and women's tennis and oversees the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Peck also holds secondary oversight for football, focusing on external revenue generation and NIL strategies.
Askew oversees all financial transactions, budgets, contracts and financial planning for TCU Athletics. He also serves as sport administrator for TCU's rifle program.
Montigel, a TCU graduate with a double major in finance and entrepreneurial management as well as an MBA from the Neeley School of Business, oversees all aspects of operations for the Frogs' nationally-known men's basketball program under the leadership of fellow Horned Frog alumnus Jamie Dixon. A four-year letterman for TCU from 2011-14, Montigel is responsible for non-conference scheduling, coordinating team travel, budget management, as well as coordinating business development and NIL opportunities.
TCU was one of only two schools to have three departmental leaders represented on the lists, joined by Tennessee.
