TCU Receives Litany of Academic All-Conference Honors

132 Horned Frog student-athletes recognized
FORT WORTH – A total of 132 TCU student-athletes received academic all-conference recognition from the Big 12 to conclude the 2026-27 season.
The Horned Frogs placed 62 student athletes on the 2026 Spring Academic All-Big 12 Team and saw 46 freshmen earn 2025-26 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors. Additionally, 24 student-athletes received the 2026 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, which is the highest academic accolade issued by the conference.
To be eligible for the Lage Award, student-athletes must have lettered at least once in their career while maintaining residence at their institution for at least one academic year. The honoree, which can only be recognized once, must have 90 hours of earned credit and possess a cumulative grade-point average of 3.80 at the time of the nomination.
Of TCU's sports, beach volleyball led the way with five Lage Award recipients. Women's swimming and diving and triathlon also produced multiple winners.
To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 Team, student-athletes must possess a grade point average of 3.20 or higher, either cumulatively or from the two previous semesters, and have participated in a minimum of 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
Baseball and women's track and field saw an institution-best 14 of their student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 honors. Women's golf had the highest percentage of its 2026-27 roster garner the honor, as all six eligible players were cited.
The Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team recognizes first-time student-athletes and incoming freshmen who achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Additionally, student-athletes must have participated in at least one of their team's scheduled contests and been a member of their respective team for their sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
Fourteen of TCU's varsity sport programs had at least one honoree.
