
Frogs' 4x200m Races to Runner-Up Finish at Penn Relays

FORT WORTH – Competing at Penn Relays and the Michael Johnson Invitational, TCU track and field saw a school record, an event win and two relays advance to Saturday's final.
In Philadelphia, the Horned Frogs' women's 4x200m relay of Bailey Johnson, London Tucker, Na'Taja Ballard and Bryce Brazzell earned a runner-up finish behind Texas A&M. TCU's squad turned in a time of 1:32.38, breaking the school record set last year by almost a second.
The women's 4x100m also saw success at Penn Relays. The same four sprinters (Ballard, Johnson, Tucker and Brazzell) crossed the finish line first in their Championship of America prelims heat and fourth overall. They are set to race in the event final on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. CT.
For the men, the 4x400m relay of Evander Thomas, Ronnie Kendrick, Jayden Douglas and Colton Conyers turned in a season-best 3:05.50 to finish sixth overall and secure a spot in the final scheduled for Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
Finally, running in Waco at the Michael Johnson Invitational, Zach Troutman grabbed the 5000m win. It was his third event win this season and second in the 5000m. The sophomore's time of 14:36.03 marked a new career best.
Action at both meets continues on Saturday, April 25.
