FORT WORTH – TCU's Yannik Knobloch and Indya Mayberry qualified to represent the Horned Frogs at the 2026 NCAA Division I Track and Field Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the Randal Tyson Track Center March 13-14.
After posting top 16 marks nationally in their respective events at the Big 12 Championships, the TCU duo officially punched their tickets to the natty. Knobloch will compete in the men's heptathlon, marking his first NCAA Championship appearance, while Mayberry is back in the national meet in both the 60m and 200m for the second straight year.
Just a sophomore, Mayberry has won six Big 12 titles between the indoor and outdoor championship meets. The Fort Worth native swept the sprint races at the indoor conference meet this past weekend, taking the 60m title in 7.19 and running away with the 200m crown (22.50) with the No. 2 time in the nation and No. 2 in the world in 2026.
With two Big 12 Titles and 20 points to her name, she was awarded the Big 12 High Point Performer award along with Oklahoma State's Billah Jepkirui. Further, Mayberry is the second woman in Big 12 Track and Field history to sweep the 60m and 200m at the indoor conference championship meet in back-to-back seasons, joining Texas' Sanya Richards (2003-04).
In Fayetteville, Mayberry will defend her national title in the 200m that she won a year ago.
Knobloch is the first male heptathlete in TCU history to qualify for the NCAA indoor championship meet. At the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, he earned a Runner-Up finish in the heptathlon with a total score of 5,846 points, shattering his previous best of 5,425. It marked a new program record and ranks 12th in the nation this season and 25th in the world in 2026.
Over the course of the two days of competition, Knobloch set personal bests in five of the seven events. On day one, he had four personal best marks through four events. The sophomore ran a 7.01 60m dash and threw 13.98m (45-10 ½) in the shot put. In the long jump, he flew for the No. 9 leap in school history, going 7.39m (24-3) and cleared 2.04m (6-8 ¼) in the high jump, which ranks fourth all-time for the Frogs.
He ran an 8.24 60m hurdles, the eighth fastest time in TCU history to open day two. In the pole vault, he cleared 4.45m (14-7 ¼), and he hung on in the 1000m with a 2:44.54 to finish second overall in the Heptathlon.
