Horned Frogs cap off undefeated weekend of play
MANHATTAN, Kan. – In a match that took a total of four hours and 10 minutes, the TCU women's tennis team was able to outlast Kansas State, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon at Peakform Sports & Wellness Center.
TCU (13-2, 7-1 Big 12) was able to respond to adversity and collect the team's third-straight victory in resounding fashion. After dropping the doubles point early and only playing on three singles courts at a time, Kansas State was no match for the firepower the Frogs provided in singles play, winning four out of the five courts that finished to grab a 4-2 win.
The Frogs are the first team to reach seven wins in Big 12 play and currently sit at the top of the league overall through four weekends of play. TCU is yet to lose a road match this season, sitting at a perfect 7-0 on the year and 4-0 during the conference slate.
DOUBLES RUNDOWN
The doubles point did not fare so well for TCU, but it did not tell the whole story of the entire match.
Kansas State picked up 6-2 wins on courts two and three to gain early control of the match and the 1-0 lead.
Victoria Gomez O'Hayon and Yu-Chin Tsai were down 5-2 before the doubles point was clinched by the Wildcats.
