FORT WORTH – After breaking the school record in the 400m this past weekend, TCU's Tia Williams was named Female Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Racing against some of the top runners in the nation at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, the junior dropped over a second off her previous PR to break a 16-year-old school record. Williams' time of 52.36 in the 400m ranks atop the Big 12 as she is just one of two runners in the conference to break 53 seconds in the event this year. She ranks 20th in the nation this season in the 400m and boasts the No. 42 time in the world in 2026.
Williams and the Frogs are back on the track this weekend, competing at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Feb. 13-14.
