
Edmonds Recognized by Big 12

The junior forward recorded consecutive double-doubles
FORT WORTH – Following consecutive double-double performances, junior forward Xavier Edmonds was named to the Big 12 Starting Five on Monday.
The forward from Long Beach, Calif., averaged 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and shot 60 percent from the field in a week that saw the Horned Frogs go 2-0.
Edmonds recorded 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting, 10 rebounds and three blocks in a 68-65 win over Oklahoma State on Jan. 20. He then finished with a career-high 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 10 rebounds in a 97-90 win at Baylor. The 10 rebounds were also a career high.
It was the first Big 12 award for Edmonds, who transferred to TCU from Salt Lake Community College. He joined Brock Harding as the only other Horned Frog to earn weekly Big 12 recognition this season.
Texas Tech's JT Toppin was named player of the week and BYU's AJ Dybantsa was the newcomer of the week.
Edmonds the Horned Frogs will host No. 10 Houston on Wednesday at 8 p.m. The game will air on ESPN2.
