
No. 5 TCU Eases by UTA, Faces Georgia in ITA Kickoff Weekend Final

FORT WORTH – No. 5 TCU beat the weather and UT Arlington on Friday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs did not drop a set en route to a 4-0 shutout of the Mavericks in the first round of ITA Kickoff Weekend.
UTA replaced Tulsa as the No. 4 seed in the Fort Worth Regional. The match was intended to be played on Saturday but moved to an earlier start date due to the impending winter storm set to hit the southwestern United States.
With the win, TCU (3-1) faces Georgia in the regional final for a ticket to the ITA Indoor National Championships. The Bulldogs (2-0) blanked Boise State 4-0 in the 2-seed vs. 3-seed matchup.
The championship match is intended to be played on Saturday pending a road condition call by the head official. The match will not start before 2 p.m.
Seven Horned Frogs played at least one match. TCU took the top courts in doubles en route to a 1-0 head start. Cooper Woestendick, Julian Alosno and Maximuss Dussault secured the shutout with singles sweeps on courts two, four and five. Woestendick put two wins on the board for TCU. Alonso earned the match clincher for the first time in his career.
TCU improved to 45-5 overall and 23-2 at home on the indoor courts over the last five seasons with the victory. The Frogs earned their 22nd indoor shutout since 2022.
Doubles Rundown
TCU's top-performing pair quickly carved out a pathway to the doubles point.
Duncan Chan and Cosme Rolland De Ravel road a double break vs. Novak Ivanovic and Finbar McGarvey to a 6-1 triumph on court two. Chan and Rolland De Ravel raced ahead to a 3-0 lead and broke again two games later before serving it out.
The ITA No. 23 ranked tandem, Chan and Rolland De Ravel won their third match in as many duals and improved to 8-0 as partners.
Courts one and three were level at four games apiece following Chan and Rolland De Ravel's victory. Woestendick manned the top court with Oliver Bonding. They landed a late break up 5-4 over Axel Delva and Yazid Lahjomri to polish off doubles play.
Dussault and Filip Apltauer led Saul Berdullas Calvio and Ellison Minnaar 6-5 in the bottom flight. Both pairs rescued early breaks.
Bonding and Woestendick played No. 1 doubles and picked up their first victory as partners.
TCU won its 17th straight indoor doubles point at home.
The Horned Frogs are 15-1 at home in doubles play during the indoor season since 2023.

Both players made the most of it.
Dussault blew by Delva 6-1, 6-2 on court five and stretched TCU's advantage to 2-0.
Alonso, tabbed 47th in the final set of fall ITA singles rankings, got the nod on court four. He bageled Minnaar in set one before finishing off the match with a 6-4 second frame.
Woestendick put TCU's second singles win on the board via a 6-2, 6-4 decision vs. Berdullas Calvio in the No. 2 slot.
Chan manned court one and left his match against Lahjomri unfinished and up a set, 6-1, 4-4.
Bonding claimed a cagey 7-5 first set over fellow Englishman McGarvey on court three.
Apltauer was slated to battle Ivanovic but his match did not start.
Dussault moved his singles record to 9-2 on the season. The freshman broke into the ITA singles rankings at No. 114 following a fall season that saw him win the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Alonso played and won on a court above the bottom pair for the first time in his career. The Spaniard notched his 10thvictory of the 2025-26 campaign.
Woestendick, the reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year, won his second match in as many starts.

The Horned Frogs and Bulldogs last squared off in the quarterfinals of the 2023 ITA Indoor National Championships in Chicago, Ill. TCU routed Georgia 5-0 on its way to capturing its second straight indoor national title. Prior to the match, TCU and Georgia last squared off in 1983.
