Horned Frogs primed for 14 total tournaments over the coming months
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's tennis program and head coach Lee Taylor Walker announced the team's 2025 fall schedule on Tuesday.
"We have a lot of great players, and we need to keep working hard and improving if we want to reach our goals in the spring," Walker said. "Part of that hard work required playing the best competition possible in the fall and really measuring where everyone stacks up across the country. Last year, we had two players take advantage of these opportunities and earn All-American status. I know that's possible again with this fall, and I'm looking forward to working hard with the team and staff to make it happen."
The fall campaign will commence on Sept. 11, with the Frogs heading to San Francisco, California, to take part in the Battle in the Bay Classic.
TCU will then open collegiate tournament play by sending multiple players to the ITA All-American Championships which will take place in Cary, North Carolina, from Sept. 20-28. During that time, select individuals will compete at the W35 ITF Berkeley, running from Sept. 22-26 in Berkeley, Calif.
The expanded fall schedule is a byproduct of the second year of a two-year pilot program between the NCAA and ITA to hold the NCAA Individual Championships at the conclusion of the fall season. The 64-woman singles field and 32-team doubles bracket will be determined by four championship events.
The next event that will commence is Big 12 Individuals, spanning Sept. 25-28 in Waco. A day later, numerous Frogs will take part in the W35 ITF San Rafael, running from Sept. 29-Oct. 3 in San Rafael, Calif.
To continue things in the beginning of October, various players will travel to Redding, California, from Oct. 6-10 for the W35 ITF Redding while numerous individuals will also compete at the ITA Regional Championships which take place from Oct. 9-14 in Fort Worth.
Two more pro tournaments will take place during the month, as the W35 ITF Bakersfield is set to go from Oct. 13-17 in Bakersfield, Calif. And the W35 ITF Norman will be held in Norman, Oklahoma, and run from Oct. 20-24.
TCU will host one more tournament throughout the fall, welcoming a plethora of teams for the Battle for the Boot JAE Foundation Invitational from Oct. 23-26. TCU, SMU, Baylor, Texas Tech, BYU, Notre Dame, Rice, LSU, Nebraska, Washington State and Arizona will be playing in this tournament. The Jae Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on mental health, depression, and suicide awareness. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the foundation.
Opening the month of November, TCU will send certain players to the W15 ITF Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska, from Nov. 3-7.
TCU will then travel to College Station to play in the ITA Sectional Championships on Nov. 6-9. In conjunction with Sectionals is the ITA Masters National Championships, previously known as the ITA National Fall Championships, in San Diego, Calif.
Rounding out the pro side, the W50 ITF Austin is set to span Nov. 10-14 in Austin.
The fall slate will conclude with the NCAA Individual Championships, running from Nov. 18-23 in Orlando, Fla.
