Bell, Cadena and Strosnider homer for the Horned Frogs
The Rundown
TCU responded to a 2-0 second inning deficit with seven runs in the bottom of the inning. Jack Bell launched a three-run blast down the right field line to put the Frogs in front. Two batters later, Sawyer Strosnider hit a 449 foot blast to center for a 5-2 lead. With two outs, doubles from Noah Franco, Chase Brunson and Isaac Cadena extended the lead to five, 7-2.
The Frogs continued to pour on the offense in the third. Strosnider tripled home a run in the third and scored on a Franco base knock for a 9-2 lead.
BYU crept back into the ballgame with a three spot in the sixth and a solo run in the eighth to make it a 9-6 contest. Kade Eudy took over with the tying run on deck and one out. He recorded the final two outs of the inning to keep it a three run game. He pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up his third save of the season.
Kole Klecker started and went four innings. He allowed two runs on two hits, walked two and struck out six. Mason Brassfield (3-1) earned the win in relief. He surrendered four runs (one earned) on four hits. He fanned six in the game.
Stat of the Game:
3 – Noah Franco, who went 5-for-5 in the game, recorded three doubles in the game, tying the school record. It's been done 13 times previously, most recently by Jantzen Witte on March 15, 2013 against Kansas.
